Another Pro-Tip for you.... Make up some slush bags. Not ice bags. Slush bags. I mix water and rubbing alcohol in a 2:1 ratio in as big a zip lock freezer bag as I can find. Then double bag it and squeeze out as much air as you can. The alcohol stops the water from freezing solid, which (1) makes it both slushy and more comfortable than ice cubes or big chunks of solid ice; and (2) It seems to be colder and stay cold longer.
The water cuff is great and convenient, especially at night, but sometimes there is just no substitute for as much cold as you can deliver.
I'm having this in a couple of months. Please be brutally honest. If you're delighted, please say so. If you wish you hadn't done it, please sound off. Good luck!
Paula, I hope it's going well. You might want to get yourself one of these Cryocuffs. It makes application of ice easier, especially at night.

I think that's what I have. Different brand. I can't wait to take the Ace bandage off tomorrow to I can get more cold to the area!

May your recovery be rapid and complete.
Thank you, Peter!
I love your post surgery blog . Wonder why you have to have a spinal ? Curious . I never had one in all my knee surgeries . Praying for you!
Maybe so you don't flop around on the table? It wore off about 45 minutes after I woke up.
They gave a spinal instead of a nerve block in the hip ?
